brazing a cracked cymbal

Can you braze a good quality cymbal with a 1" crack? Sure the sound would be affected, but if done correctly and not too much heat, shouldn't it be usable ? Please advise. Thanks, Mike

without knowing the type of metal in the cymbal it would be very difficult to correctly repair it. tig welding may be better then brazing. brazing uses alot of heat over a larger surface area and has the potential to cause distortion and effect the sound. tig welding has a very small heat effected zone and would provide a stronger repair.
