acetylene bottles always stand up straight.

acetalyne should always be mounted upright to avoid confusion, you may have a helper one day who decides to put the regulator on and a few minutes later "booooom", there wen't your welding career. you can actually mount it laying down but you should never connect it while the bottle is horizontal, but you can transport it horizontally-disconnected. while wer'e on the subject, never wd40 or grease any oxy/acetalyne connections as in the oxy side it will/could- depending on whether god likes you or not end your short and silly career in welding...boooooom!!!!!!!

in the unlikely event, you have an acetylene bottle that was lying on its' side. you have to stand it up straight, and make sure it stays in the upright position for at least four hours (just to be on the safe side), before connecting any components to the cylinder. not only is there a danger of explosion, but acetone separates from the acetylene and can damage your regulators and equipment.
