how far can "welding flash" cause eye damage?



is there any considarations one this matter (ex.: when you must put curtains to shield bystanders/near-workers)?

if you are not using any type of welding blind or any type of protection for covering the arc, a distance of a minimum of 40 feet(12 meters) is a safe distance to prevent arc flash.
